“Generative” is a broad term for processes that utilize computer simulations, often involving randomness, to produce a work of some kind.

When I use the word Generative, I am usually talking about utilizing procedural generation for some creative endeavor. Most commonly for me, that medium is visual artwork.

A Story of Iteration - Generating Blotch
- At time of writing, “Blotch” is my most recent piece of Generative artwork. It looks nothing like I had originally envisioned, and the iteration of the project was interesting in its own right. Getting this piece to a place that I actually liked was a long, fun, and somewhat arduous process punctuated with tons of intermediate results that look absolutely nothing like the final piece. Generating artwork with Haskell

People are starting to ask what my stack looks like, and until now I haven’t had anything to point at; I’d like to change that today!
